For Rohan’s second Birthday this year I didn’t really follow any set theme as he hasn’t become kind of obsessed with any character or show if you will. So since we didn’t have a theme per se, I just went with a color scheme. Navy blue, baby blue & white with gold accents and I love the way it all turned out!
I got the inspiration for his wood pallet table from one of my favorite instagram accounts for kids inspiration called Hudson & Harlow. She does the most beautiful Birthday party decorations for her kids as well as adorable playrooms & playhouses. Follow her here!!
I saw some wood pallets sitting behind a small pool business around my neighborhood and asked if I could take them off their hands and they were more than delighted to get rid of them! Im sure it was quite a hilarious sight for drivers passing by to see little old 5 ft me trying to lift 4 wood pallets into the back of my SUV. lol. I didn’t bother sanding them down since there weren’t too many harsh areas but since kiddos will be eating and sitting on them I would suggest taking the time to do a little examining to make sure they don’t have huge splinters, etc.
Another account that I love to follow for Kid’s Birthday party inspiration is Pretty Posh Parties. They are an event planning firm based in Beverly Hills and their parties are over the top beautiful. This is where I got the inspiration to do Rohan’s Balloon wall and I love the way it turned out! I think I also saw the idea for this cake pop cake from their sight as well. The kids loved it because they could just pick the cake pop right off. The center was made from styrofoam and coated in fondant and then the cake pops just push right into the styrofoam so this could easily be a DIY cake. Follow them here.
For Rohan’s decorations I used some things I had on hand from his first Birthday Party like the baby blue tablecloth, the gold and white runner and the white napkins. These gold chargers are the plastic ones sold at Hobby Lobby and we actually used these at our Hindu Wedding Lunch Reception. The white plates are also plastic because again kiddos..lol. I find these at Home Goods all the time during the Summer over in the BBQ/food section and are great for all of our outdoor parties. The pillows the kiddos are sitting on are literally our outdoor throw pillows. The gift bags and hats are from Hobby Lobby as well.
Here are a few of my favorite Etsy shops for kid’s party decorations including the ‘Two’ cake topper.
Thanks for reading all about our little man’s Birthday Party and I hope you enjoy gathering inspiration for your own little one’s party!
