We moved into our home in Kentucky almost 2 years ago and it has been quite the undertaking decorating it room by room as I am sure most of you are familiar with when you move into a new place. I am nowhere near done with the house but since Summer was nearing I decided to go ahead and decorate the backyard so we could really enjoy it this year! Kentucky has beautiful weather from April until November so we will get a lot of use out of the backyard.

My best advice for decorating any space is to start with inspiration photos and find pieces that are similar but fit your budget. I started with a photo out of Frontgate magazine and a photo of a mediterranean dining table from Pinterest and built the rest of the decor around those 2 essential looks.

Most outdoor furniture always comes weather treated but I bought 303 Water Resistant Fabric Spray from Amazon and treated each cushion and pillow a second time just to ensure they would bead off water and clean easily.

I also bought 52 gallon rubbermaid plastic bins with snap on lids from Home Depot to store all of the cushions during major rain and for during the Winter. I find these to be a very cost-effective solution to outdoor cushion storage.
